State-of-the-Art Dental Technology

We use various latest technologies to give quality work, a comfortable experience and reduce the amount of time you need to spend in the chair.

Intraoral camera

Intraoral cameras are tiny digital cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth and enable your dentist to show you an enlarged image of your smile on a computer screen. The camera is located in the tip of the Intraoral wand and transmits real-time video for you and Dr. Mooore to review. Not only does this allow you to see what is really happening in your mouth, it also documents what is seen, uploading it to a computer. Information can then be printed out to provide a hard copy picture for your records or for procedure verification by your insurance company.

Air Abrasion Drill

An air abrasion drill is an instrument that works like a mini sandblaster. During air abrasion, a fine stream of particles (made of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture) is aimed at the decayed portion of the tooth. Small particles of decay on the tooth surface are removed as the stream of particles strikes them. The particles of decay are then “suctioned” away. Air abrasion is mostly suitable for shallow cavities that are still in an early stage of decay.

This procedure is completely safe and has many advantages compared to the traditional drilling method used by most dentists:
  • Air abrasion generates no heat, sound, pressure or vibration.
  • Air abrasion reduces the need for anesthesia, particularly if the cavity is shallow.
  • Air abrasion leaves much more of the healthy tooth tissue behind.
  • Air abrasion leaves the working area relatively dry, which is an advantage during the placement of composite fillings.
  • Air abrasion reduces the risk of microfracturing and chipping of the tooth, which some experts believe can lead to premature restorative failures.
  • Air abrasion allows the dentist to treat multiple sites in the mouth during a single visit.
  • The procedure is relatively simple and quick.

DIAGNOdent Early Detection of Tooth Decay

The DIAGNOdent is a pen-like probe that sends a safe, painless laser beam into the tooth and checks its health. A number scale and an alarm will signal when there are signs of hidden decay. This allows us to determine if decay is lurking beneath the apparently healthy tooth surface.

This technology allows us to catch tooth decay at an earlier stage, before the tooth is destroyed from the inside out. This will help prevent more extensive procedures.

Plasma Arc Curing Light (PAC Light)

This new system has been specifically designed for curing dental composites. Composites are tooth-colored filling materials currently used in place of amalgam (mercury) fillings. Composites are hard, durable materials that bond well to teeth and can be shaded to match the natural tooth color. Until recently, it could take several minutes to completely cure (or harden) a filling using a conventional Ultra Violet light. With PAC Light technology, a stronger and more durable filling is cured in seconds. Our patients have found PAC Lights to be a comfortable treatment option for composite restorations, tooth bonding, porcelain inlays, and veneers.

Panoramic X-Rays (Panorex)

The panorex film provides Dr. Jenista with a panoramic view of the oral cavity and provides valuable information at a glance about existing fillings, supporting bone, sources of infection, wisdom teeth, cysts and tumors. The panorex film shows more of the mouth and surrounding structures than regular X-Rays do.

CAESY Patient Education Software

The CAESY system is a DVD interactive dental education program. Patients can view the latest dental techniques in a step-by-step format through the use of a computer and mouse. Each treatment suite is equipped with this wonderful system. If you have any questions about the services we recommend, or need clarification on a particular procedure, feel free to ask about CAESY.

Cosmetic Imaging Software

Dr. Jenista uses special cosmetic imaging software that allows him to show you, often in the same visit, what your smile will look like after a specific cosmetic procedure. Take advantage of our Free Cosmetic Consultation and see how beautiful your smile can be!
